2024 West Virginia Elections
In addition to voting in the presidential contest between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris, voters in West Virginia will cast ballots for the state’s two congressional districts. Voters will also cast a ballot for one of the state’s two Senate seats. The West Virginia Senate race is between Democrat Glenn Elliott and Republican Jim Justice. The contest is for an open seat after independent Sen. Joe Manchin opted not to seek re-election. The seat is expected to be a key piece in Republicans’ efforts to take control of the Senate. There are also statewide contests for state government offices. The West Virginia gubernatorial race is between Republican Patrick Morrisey and Democrat Steve Williams. Independent Erika Kolenich is also on the ballot. The contest is for an open seat. The sitting governor, Jim Justice, is running for the U.S. Senate. The attorney general contest in West Virginia is between Republican J.B. McCuskey and Democrat Teresa Toriseva.
